Thanks to the 8 plus inches of snow that fell during Sunday night, our house was like the Scaly Mountain Outdoor Center yesterday. First of all, no one even thought about going to work or school, and no roads were scraped so it was rural Winter Wonderland even in town, with people guessing where the lines on the road WOULD be if they could see them, and parking wherever they saw fit in the Kmart/grocery store parking lots (if you've been to France or Italy, this is normal behaviour... what's more fun in France than to sit at the cafes and watch the wrecks? :)
Anyway, let's start at the beginning when Bart and Madison came over around noon. After a half hour or so sledding in the backyard, it became obvious that a RAMP had to be built so we could all (including the two year old who pulls her own sled, mind you) sled OFF the deck, down the incline and catch air at the "jump" which was provided by James, Bart, the snow shovel and the wheelbarrow. About an hour after word got out of this awesome invention, we had fifteen people over here ranging in age from two to 39 (yes, that would be me) waiting in line like at a ski lift to do the run off the deck. It was very impressive.
Here's some of my fave lines I actually heard used more than once:
Hey y'all watch this!
Wait wait, I'm gonna STAND on it!
I'm going one more time, one more time and that's it!
Hey, get a running start!
See if you can catch air BACKWARDS!
Don't video tape me at Angel (medical center for you non-locals... that was Bart)
That's gonna SMART in the mornin!
I video recorded lots and often, just trying to get that $10,000 video for AFV, but no such luck... this time.
However, it has now melted off just enough to get wet and become FROZEN, thereby turning the innocent sled run from yesterday into the main jump at the Lillehammer Olympics...... if we raise the "mogul" at the bottom enough, we should clear the fence. That is the plan for after-work entertainment. This rocks.

ps - hey Shannan .... LUGE LESSONS........ xoxo
